The Federal Council of Education of Argentina announced the school calendar for 2025, with changes to the start dates of classes in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and other provinces. Classes will begin on February 24 in CABA, aiming to optimize the academic calendar.


Confirmed School Calendar 2025 in Buenos Aires

The Federal Council of Education (CFE) has confirmed the academic calendar for 2025 and announced modifications to the start dates of classes in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) and in other provinces of Argentina. The different ministries of Education have detailed when the academic year will start in each jurisdiction, ensuring a minimum of 190 effective school days across the country.

In the City of Buenos Aires, classes will begin nearly a week earlier compared to the previous academic year. Students will return to the classrooms starting February 24, after the Carnival holidays. Meanwhile, the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires has decided that classes will start on March 5, delaying the calendar compared to the previous year, which began on March 1.

The academic calendar for 2025 has been established by local governments throughout the country with the aim of recovering lost school days and optimizing the academic calendar. Below are the start dates in different provinces:

- February 24: CABA, Córdoba, Chubut, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Formosa, Jujuy, Mendoza, Salta, San Juan, San Luis, and Santa Cruz. - February 25: Neuquén. - February 26: Chaco and La Pampa. - March 5: Province of Buenos Aires, Catamarca, La Rioja, Misiones, Río Negro, Santiago del Estero, Tierra del Fuego, Tucumán, and Santa Fe (secondary level starts on the 5th, primary level on the 24th).

Winter holidays are scheduled as follows in different regions of the country, aiming to adapt to the needs of each region:

- From July 21: Federal Capital, Buenos Aires, Chaco, and Santiago del Estero. - From July 7 to July 18: Chubut, Córdoba, Entre Ríos, La Rioja, Mendoza, Neuquén, Río Negro, Santa Fe, San Juan, San Luis, and Tucumán. - From July 14 to July 25: Catamarca, Corrientes, Formosa, Jujuy, La Pampa, Misiones, Salta, Santa Cruz, and Tierra del Fuego.
